The Museum’s incredible collection predominately comprises of objects which were proudly on display at Bentley Priory during its time as an RAF base, between 1926 and 2008.
The Museum is privileged to display a private collection of memorabilia relating to Battle of Britain aircrew, including medals, logbooks and photographs, on loan from Melissa John, in memory of her brother Christopher. The history of Bentley Priory is also embedded in its newly restored architecture and interior design.
The majority of the Museum’s unique collection is on display across the Museum, with only a small number held in store.
As part of a recent collections access project, generously funded by the Museums Association Esmee Fairbairn Collections Fund, we are able to now share a selection of these objects online which introduce the collection at Bentley Priory Museum and the rich history it represents.
Alongside each image of the object is an audio description and transcript.
