DESCRIPTION:This National Lottery Open Week\, we’re saying Thanks To You with a free tea or coffee in our Museum café. \nEvery week National Lottery players raise over £30 million for good cause projects\, like ours. That’s why we’re pleased to be taking part in National Lottery Open Week\, which celebrates the contribution of National Lottery players in supporting good causes over the past 28 years. \nTo thank National Lottery players for their support\, we will be offering a free tea or coffee in our Museum café on our open days between Saturday 09 – Saturday 16 March 2024. \nAnyone who presents any National Lottery ticket (digital or physical)\, scratchcard\, or Instant Win Game\, on these dates will be able to take up this special offer. Please check our full terms and conditions below. \nAs a recipient of National Lottery funding\, Bentley Priory Museum has been able to recently deliver our Clerk Special Duties project\, through which we have uncovered and shared the stories of  women in the WAAF who played a vital role within the Dowding System during the Second World War. Our research was featured in temporary exhibition and the legacy of this project will be an interactive Battle of Britain timeline and WAAF database added to our permanent displays. \nNEW PROJECT: ‘RNLI 200: Remembering the Rescue of The Few’ \nMonday 4 March marked the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI. We are pleased to have secured a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to curate a temporary exhibition in 2024 to mark the bicentenary and explore the RNLI’s role in rescuing Battle of Britain aircrew. \nThe National Lottery supports good cause projects in the areas of arts\, education\, environment\, health\, heritage\, sport and community. Over the past 28 years\, National Lottery players have raised more than £46 billion for projects which are making a huge difference to lives of people and communities throughout the whole of the UK. \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nAdmission to the Museum’s café is available to Museum visitors only. SUMMARY:**SOLD OUT - Operation Nep'tune' - A D-Day 80 Commemoration - SOLD OUT**
DESCRIPTION:**This Performance has now sold out and is no longer available to book.**\nOperation Neptune\, better known as D-Day which took place on 6 June 1944\, was the operational codename of the naval and assault landings of Operation Overlord (the invasion of and battle for Normandy). \nTo mark the 80th anniversary\, members of Tonic Choir present a collection of songs and readings in the very building where some of the planning for the operation and the progress of the landings were observed on D-Day itself. Visitors on the day included King George VI\, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and General Dwight D. Eisenhower – the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe. \n\nFrom the team that brought you previous Bentley Priory Museum shows: Fighter Command and the Battle for Britain (2015)\, Beyond the Trenches (2017)\, Flying without Feathers (2018)\, The Bentley Priory Chronicles (2023). This performance by members of the Tonic Choir will include many of the best hits from the previous shows. \nApproximate running time is 45 minutes. \nPerformance ticket holder access to the Museum will be available from 2pm. The Museum galleries will be available to view before and after the performance. The café will be open\, serving light refreshments before and after the performance until 4.30pm. \nLimited seating available\, so book early to avoid disappointment! Tickets must be pre-booked for the performance. \nTickets: Adults £10\, Children £5.00. DESCRIPTION:Bentley Priory Museum will welcome back Spitfire display pilot and retired senior Royal Air Force officer AM Cliff Spink to their annual Dowding System Day on Saturday 13 July\, to talk about the Spitfire and contemporary aircraft of World War II. \nSpink will be joined by Anthony Inglis\, discussing his grandfather Air Commodore Ernest Howard-Williams MC\, and Sharon Ward who will give an overview of Fighter Command’s two methods of Controlled Interception during the Battle of Britain. \nThe doors will open at 10am with the galleries available to view before and after the talks until 4pm. Please note that the Museum will be open to Dowding System Day ticket holders only on this day. \nThe talks will take place in the Operations Room and will run from 11am -1pm and 2pm – 3pm\, with a break for lunch from 1pm-2pm. \nBeat the rush! – Packed lunches can be pre-ordered and will be available for collection on the day. SUMMARY:Floral Concert
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Museum\, where we will mark the Summer Solstice and World Music Day with a performance of A Musical Bouquet by the Tonic Choir. \nThe musical performance is included in Museum Admission or Annual Membership. Pre-booking not required. Museum open 10am – 5pm (last entry 4pm). \nFormed in 2009\, Tonic Choir’s first ever public performance was 15 years ago in May 2010 on the terrace at Bentley Priory. 3 years before the Museum opened. Over the last 12 years\, the choir has enjoyed some of their most memorable moments at the Museum\, with a series of specially created shows. \nJoin them at 2.30pm for a 45 minute programme of songs about flowers to celebrate Summer (And one or two surprises!).

The tour is bookable for children but is aimed at an adult audience. \nTour Duration: approx. 1 hour. \nThe Museum galleries\, gardens\, temporary exhibition\, shop and café will be available to visit following your tour. The Museum closes at 5pm. \nTicket information \nAdult: £8.50 \nChild (aged 6 to 16): £5.00 \nAccompanying Carers / 5 and under: Free \nWe are currently switching our online payment provider. DESCRIPTION:Bentley Priory Museum is pleased to be once again hosting its annual Dowding System Day of talks. \nOur guest speakers and talks this year are: \n–John Shere from the ROCA National Heritage Team – The Royal Observer Corps Above and Below Ground \n-Air Commodore (Ret’d) Rick Peacock-Edwards – Teddy Peacock-Edwards: Battle of Britain Pilot and World War 2 Ace \n-Air Marshal (Ret’d) Cliff Spink – The Air Battle and Siege of Malta \nThe doors will open at 10am with the galleries available to view before and after the talks until 4pm. Please note that the Museum will be open to Dowding System Day ticket holders only on this day. \nThe talks will take place in the Operations Room and will run from 11am -1pm and 2pm – 3pm\, with a break for lunch from 1pm-2pm. \nPlease note that our café will be open before the talks\, during the lunch break and after for snacks and drinks. \nTicket information \nNon-Members: £12.00 \nMembers: £10.00 \nWe are currently switching our online payment provider.
