Friday Morning Talks: ‘New Raid’ to ‘Tally-Ho’ – The workings of Radar & Fighter Command
25 September at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us for another Friday Morning Talk by speaker Sharon Ward.
During the long summer of 1940, the effectiveness and survival of Fighter Command depended on radar’s early warning of approaching enemy raids.
Based on research from original WWII Air Ministry & RAF documents, this talk will provide an overview of radar, the demanding work of its operators and how the information produced was used by Fighter Command to intercept the Luftwaffe.
