Friday Morning Talks: The Ministry of Information and the Forgotten War Artists of the Second World War – With Tony Rich

Join us for our Friday morning talk, where Research Historian and Ex-Creative Producer at JWT, Tony Rich, will take us through the work of the Ministry of Information and War Artists in the 2nd World War. 

Tony’s research has been focussed around artists’ agents, ‘War Artists and Illustrators Ltd’.  These agents represented artists including Frank Wootton, Terence Cuneo, Ron Jobson, William Krogman and many others.  From the onset of the war, they had a close working relationship with the Ministry of Information Studio and it is these artists; their pre-war backgrounds; wartime work and their subsequent post war careers that have been a focus of his research.

This talk will take place onsite in the Museum’s Learning Centre and is included in Museum admission or Annual Membership.
