International Museums on the Air Weekend – With The Radio Society of Harrow
15 June at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join us to see our friends from the Radio Society of Harrow participating in the International Museums on the Air Weekend.
Take a walk up to the bunker entrance, where you’ll find the radio station operating at the picnic area to mark the ‘International Museums on the Air weekend’. The team there where will be happy to speak to you about what’s going on and who they are as an organisation.
This does not need to be booked and is included with your admission or membership that day when visiting.
More information on the ‘International Museums on the Air weekend’ can be found here: https://www.radio-amateur-events.org/IMW/index.htm
About the Radio Society of Harrow
We are a Club for Amateur Radio enthusiasts
Amateur radio is a popular technical hobby that uses radio frequencies for exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, and emergency communications. It is the only hobby governed by international treaty. Radio amateurs transmit radio signals on a number of designated frequency bands for various purposes:
- Contacting people all over the world
- Competing in international competitions to test good you are as an operator
- Technical experimentation — many of the leaps forward in radio technology have been initiated by radio amateurs
- Communication through amateur satellites or with the International Space Station
- Providing communications at times of emergencies
