Friday Morning Talks: ‘Jean Batten’
February 8, 2019 at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Please note that there has been a change to the planned schedule: ‘Women Pilots of the Second World War’, by Melody Foreman, has been postponed. Please check back soon for the new date for this talk.
We will be joined by Captain Arthur Creighton, who will share with us the fascinating life of Jean Batten.
Jean Batten was a world famous New Zealand aviatrix who broke several long distance solo flying records in the 1930’s. She was often referred to as the ‘Greta Garbo of the skies’.
