A talk by Sharon Ward. From the embers of WW1, Britain's air defence evolved and Fighter Command was born.  Based on Cabinet, Air Ministry & RAF papers, this talk will chart the evolution of Britain's air defence system that faced the might of the Luftwaffe in 1940. Included in museum admission or £3 donation.

We will be open on Sundays throughout September 2016. September is traditionally the month in which the Battle of Britain is commemorated. To mark this, we will be open every Sunday in September 2016. Standard opening hours and admission charges apply.

A live audio described handling session for blind or partially sighted visitors will bring alive the stories of some of ‘The Few’ - the Battle of Britain aircrew.
