Bentley Priory Collection

The Museum’s incredible collection predominately comprises of objects which were proudly on display at Bentley Priory during its time as an RAF base, between 1926 and 2008. The Museum displays a collection of memorabilia relating to Battle of Britain aircrew. The history of Bentley Priory is also embedded in its newly restored architecture and interior design. The majority of the Museum’s unique collection is on display across the Museum, with only a small number held in store.

If you have an object which you would like to donate to the Museum, please send information to [email protected]. Please note we are only able to accept items pertaining to the Battle of Britain or to Bentley Priory.

The Museum does not have an archive or hold any RAF service records. The following organisations hold service records and archival and photographic collections relating to RAF personnel and the Battle of Britain:

RAF Air Historical Branch: http://www.raf.mod.uk/ahb
National Archives, Kew  Web: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
RAF Museum  Web: http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk

As part of a recent collections access project, generously funded by the Museums Association Esmee Fairbairn Collections Fund, we are able to now share a selection of these objects online which introduce the collection at Bentley Priory Museum and the rich history it represents.

Alongside each image of the object is an audio description and transcript.
